Pokukrom East

On October 7, 2010, Pelangio announced a third discovery on the Manfo Property at Pokukrom East, where drilling encountered near-surface high-grade gold (7.01 g/t gold over 19 metres) as well as broad bulk tonnage grades (1.64 g/t over 33 metres and 1.03 g/t over 46 metres) along an over 800 metre strike length of the 1,300 metre long Pokukrom East anomaly.

Highlights of the Pokukrom East Gold Zone include:
  • Open strike length of 850+ metres, with mineralization intersected up to 250 metres north of the defined anomaly;
  • Confirmed to depths up to 275+ metres;
  • Broad bulk tonnage zone averaging between 1.0 and 1.5 g/t gold over 30-70+ metres width;
  • Shallow plunging higher grade footwall zone identified from section 49350 to 49900, with a currently defined plunge of 600 metres from near surface to 210 metres depth;
  • Potential for new mineralized zones in the hanging wall and new shoots on strike to the north and south.

Significant gold mineralization at broad intervals was intersected on each of the sections along strike. Each section indicates bulk tonnage potential with continuous mineralization that suggests the down-dip continuity of the mineralized zone.  Gold mineralization generally associated with a sericite-pyrite altered metagranitoid hosted shear, with higher grade zones of quartz-pyrite veining.  Lower grade mineralization occurs in hematite altered metagranitoid, which is peripheral alteration to the sericite hosted mineralization.

Drilling at Pokukrom East to date has consistently intersected intervals of higher grade gold mineralization from section to section over a significant strike length:
